Analysis

This is hands down the most exciting matchup of the 1st round. They split the regular season series 2-2, and both teams come in hot and ready to light up the score board. There a two major factors that will decide this series. First is the health of Andrew Bogut. He hasn’t played in the last two contests, and no word has been made to his postseason availability. Even if he plays, ribs are an injury easily re-injured. If Bogut cannot go, that gives a huge advantage to the Clippers down low, and Hilton Armstrong & Jermaine O’neal just aren’t capable of holding down DeAndre Jordan all series. The second is coaching. Marc Jackson has come under a bit of fire this season, with ownership wanting to win now. He reassigned popular assistant coach Brian Scalabrine recently, and though his job should be secure this offseason win or lose, he’s got to be feeling the pressure. Where on the flipside, Doc Rivers is as good as any in the post season. He brings a championship swagger to this Clippers team that you can’t put a price on. This series may go the distance (hopefully!).
